its four thirty on a sunday afternoon, THE WIFE is getting all dolled up, junior is getting restless in his rocker and i am in my birthday suit hacking away at the computer.... this is usually how we are when we are getting ready to go out...
we were at the docs last tuesday... junior was getting his monthly jab, the fifth one.... or was it the fourth one?... hmmmm i lost count actually... we were at the docs 20 to 11 for a 10.30 appointment... 10 minutes late... fashionably i guess.... there wasnt many people in the clinic at this time... and the only fella with the coughs and sneezing fits is yours truely... i havent been feeling the best lately... THE WIFE was coughing and sneezing the week before, then its my turn... i just hope i dont pass it on to junior...
we weight and measured junior before going into the docs room... junoir is 7.8 kgs and 66 cm tall... dont seem to have grown much, he was 7.6 kgs the last time.... it wasnt long before we were ursherd into the docs office..
doc: so what can i do for you today?
THE WIFE: we are here for his injection
doc: okay, hows everything?
THE WIFE: he still havent poo much since our last visit... its been close to two weeks since he last pooed...
me: is it okay?
doc: hows his diet like? is he on breast milk or formula?
THE WIFE: both but 80% breast milk
doc: well, i am not surprise if he is on mostly breast milk, usually when they are on breast milk, they tend to move their bowels less often... as long as the stools are not hard then its not constipation... has he started on solids yet?
THE WIFE: yah, we are starting him on cereals... he seems to like it...
doc: good, he can have one meal a day, by six months he should be having up to two soild meals a day... you can feed him fruits as well, bananas, watermelons but not citrius fruits like oranges... acidic, not good for him...
THE WIFE: okay... we have been letting him suck on melons and graps...
doc: good.... okay, put him on the table there and lets take a look at him....... everything seems fine.... hes quite active isnt he?
THE WIFE: yah....
after the jab, we made the appointment for the following month... this time we chose a saturday... hopefully junior would poo more... not too many dads that i know of would wish for their kids to poo more... since more poo means more diaper changes... weird when you think about it, i am actually wishing for more crap.... hmmmm...
