its 5 to 7 on a sunday evening, junior is taking his third nap of the day, THE WIFE is taking her first nap of the day and i am just staring into space and listening to silence.... i never could appreciate the golden of silence till junior came along..... as junior gets bigger, his cries got louder.. and to have one or two hours of silence with no screaming baby is just pure bliss...
we were at the docs yesterday, the clinic is pretty crowded on a saturday morning... standing room only.. its not so much the "no place to sit' that bothered me.... its the waiting room full of kids with cough and cold, runny nose and sneezing fits that worries me... would junior catch something while waiting in a room full of sick kids?... i am not taking any
chances, i am waiting in the hallway...
before long, juniors name was called... we were to take his weight and height... he is 6.6 kgs and is about 52 cm tall.... thats about one kg a month... about average, we were told and shortly after the weight in, we were ushered into the docs office....
THE WIFE: he doesnt seem to want to take the bottle
doc: how much breast milk is he taking?
THE WIFE: i think about 60-80 ml...
doc: kids his age needs about 120 ml or more... have you tried cleaning his tongue? i see his tongue is all white, that could be the reason why he is not taking the bottle.... take a clean cloth, use some water and clean his tongue..
me: just water? no need any medications?
doc: yah, just water..... he seems pretty active... kicking all the time...
THE WIFE: yah....
doc: the injection we are going to give today might give him a fever... do you have a thermometer at home?
me: yah, the ear type
doc: if he has a temperature of 38 degrees taken from the ear, then you give him this medicine to bring the temperature down... 3ml, using this syringe.. other than that i am quite satisfied with his growth..
the doc give junior a jab with the nurse holding his leg down... jounior is a brave litttle lad, not a whimper or a sound... the doc placed a plaster on junior and smiled...
with that we make our next appoint for march... i decided that to avoid the crowd again, i would fix the appoint on a thursday morning... hopefully there wont be too many kids with cough, cold, runny nose and sneezing fits around...
